About this consultation (Stage 3)
In August and September 2025, we asked for your feedback on the draft designs for spaces inside the Michael Tuck Stand and the new sports ground lighting for Glenferrie Oval.
Thank you to everyone in the community who participated in this consultation.
These designs follow the Vision and Design Brief (PDF 1.81 MB), which we created using feedback from 475 community members. This input helps ensure these important community spaces reach their full potential as active, welcoming places for sport, programs, events and activities.
How the community participated
We heard from people through:
- a survey
- two drop-in sessions at the Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre
- workshops with sports clubs and community groups who will use the facilities.
How the consultation was promoted
- Social media: We posted about the consultation on our Facebook and Instagram.
- Letters: We distributed letters to 3,450 residents who live near Glenferrie Oval.
- On-site signage: We placed signs around Glenferrie Oval with a QR code for this consultation page.
- Emails: We sent an email to everyone who has signed up for alerts about new consultations relevant to them. You can sign up for alerts at the top of this page.
- Council e-newsletters: We promoted the consultation to thousands of community members who subscribe to the Fortnightly Feed e-newsletter.
Who we heard from
- 75% of people live in Hawthorn, Hawthorn East and Kew.
- 83% regularly visit Glenferrie Oval to walk, ride, exercise, relax or socialise.
- Most were aged 35 and over.
