About this consultation

Community members have raised a concern about traffic congestion during busy times due to on-street parking on the west side of Yerrin Street, Balwyn between 87 Yerrin Street and Belmore Road.

Yerrin Street is a higher-level road carrying traffic to and from the Balwyn shopping strip, local streets and local attractors including the Boroondara Sports Complex.

We have assessed the parking situation and now invite your feedback on proposed changes to parking restrictions.

The proposed changes to parking restrictions are in line with our:

  • Parking Management Policy 2017
  • Parking Management Procedures 2017.

  • Current parking restrictions

There are currently no parking restrictions in place.

    Proposed changes

We are proposing to change these restrictions to:

  • Permanent 'No Stopping' on the west side of Yerrin Street from 87 Yerrin Street to Belmore Road (about 60 metres).
  • This will provide 60 metres of 'No Stopping' on the west side, south of Belmore Road, and will aid traffic flow entering/ exiting Yerrin Street. Two parking spaces will be lost with the longer 'No Stopping' zone.

Vehicles with a valid residential parking permit will not be exempt from the 'No Stopping' restriction.

    Who can take part

This consultation is open to people who are eligible for a residential parking permit for properties along Yerrin Street, between 87 Yerrin Street and Belmore Road.

We will accept one response from residents in each property. If we receive more than one response for your property, we will contact you to confirm your response. Property owners who do not live in their property are also eligible to vote.

You can have your say on the proposed changes by completing our online survey below. The survey will take 5 minutes or less to complete. We will ask for your name, address and email.

You can also request a paper survey by phoning 9278 4444.

This consultation closes at 5 pm on Friday 20 December 2024.

    What happens next
