About this consultation

From 31 July to 19 August 2024, we consulted our community on the proposed parking change along Ridgeway Avenue, Kew south of No.11 (west side) and No.14 (east side) from 30-minutes to 1-hour (1P) and to introduce an evening Permit Zone.

We invited residents, property owners and people who are eligible for a residential parking permit to participate in this consultation. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the proposed changes.

What we asked

We asked for your feedback on the proposal to replace the 30-minute (P30) on-street parking (on the west side, south of No. 11 and on the east side, south of No. 14), with a:

  • 1-hour (1P) restriction from 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Saturday, and
  • Permit Zone restriction from 6 pm to midnight, Monday to Saturday.

The changes will assist with resident parking availability during evenings.

Changes to parking restrictions are made if:

  • we receive feedback from at least 10% of people invited to share their feedback, and
  • 55% support the proposed changes.

What we heard

We received responses from a sufficient number (32%) of eligible community members.

  • 90% supported the proposed changes and
  • 10% opposed the proposed changes to the parking restrictions

What happens next

In accordance with our Parking Management Policy, we will change the parking restrictions if 55% or more of all eligible responses show support for the proposed changes.

With majority support received (90%) to introduce the change to parking restrictions, the parking restrictions on both sides of Ridgeway Avenue (south of No. 11 and 14) will be changed by mid-September to:

  • 1-hour (1P) 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Saturday and
  • Permit Zone, 6 pm to Midnight, Monday to Saturday.
