Background
From 30 August to 13 September 2024, we consulted our community on proposed changes to on-street parking along Fitzwilliam Street between Coleridge Street and Byron Street in Kew.
We invited residents and property owners to participate in this consultation. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the proposed changes.
What we asked
We asked for your feedback on the proposal to replace the northern side 2-hour restriction with a 'Permit Zone, 8 am-6 pm, Monday-Friday'.
Changes to parking restrictions are made if:
- we receive feedback from at least 10% of people invited to share their feedback, and
- 55% support the proposed changes.
What we heard
We received responses from a sufficient number of eligible community members.
- 100% supported the proposal
- No opposition to the proposal
In accordance with our Parking Management Policy, we will change the parking restrictions if 55% or more of all eligible responses show support for the proposed changes.
What happens next
As the proposed changes are supported by at least 55% of participants, we will introduce a ‘Permit Zone, 8 am-6 pm, Mon-Fri’ parking restriction along the north side of the street, replacing the ‘2P’ parking restriction in mid October.
