About this consultation
From 24 July to 8 August 2024, we consulted our community on the proposed permanent introduction of No Stopping along the west side of Barnsbury Road, Deepdene adjacent to 62-66 Whitehorse Road and 39 Barnsbury Road.
We invited residents, property owners and people who are eligible for a residential parking permit to participate in this consultation. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the proposed changes.
What we asked
We asked for your feedback on the proposal to replace the:
- No Stopping, 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday / 1-hour (1P) 8 am to 6 pm Saturday and Sunday spaces in Barnsbury Road outside 62-66 Whitehorse Road and 39 Barnsbury Road (3 spaces) with a permanent No Stopping and
- Convert the No Stopping, 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday parking space (1) outside No. 37 Barnsbury Road to a 2P, 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday restriction
Changes to parking restrictions are made if:
- we receive feedback from at least 10% of people invited to share their feedback, and
- 55% support the proposed changes.
What we heard
We received responses from an adequate number of eligible community members.
- 75% supported introducing the permanent No Stopping/ change from No Stopping to 2P
- 55% opposed introducing the permanent 'No Stopping' / change from No Stopping to 2P.
What happens next
In accordance with our Parking Management Policy, we will change the parking restrictions if 55% or more of all eligible responses show support for the proposed changes.
With majority support received (75%) to introduce the change to parking restrictions, the following will occur:
- Full-time No Stopping in Barnsbury Road outside 62-66 Whitehorse Road and 39 Barnsbury Road, and
- 2-hour parking (2P), 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday will be introduced outside 37 Barnsbury Road.
