About this consultation

Community members have contacted Council about parking along Windella Avenue, between Valerie Street and Strathwyn Place in Kew East, raising their concerns about the lack of available on-street parking for residents.

We’ve looked at the parking situation and now want your feedback on proposed changes to the parking rules.

The proposed changes are in line with our:

  • Parking Management Policy 2017
  • Parking Management Procedures 2017.

  • Current parking restrictions

    • Unrestricted on the eastern side.
    • 2P 8 am-6 pm, Mon-Fri on the western side (odd-numbers).

    Proposed changes

    We’re proposing to change these restrictions to:

    • 2P 8 am-6 pm, Mon-Fri on the eastern side (even-numbers).
    • No changes for the western side.
    Vehicles with a valid residential parking permit are and will be exempt from parking restrictions in this area. To find out if you’re eligible for a permit and how to apply, visit our Residential parking permits page.

    Who can take part

    1. People who are eligible for a residential parking permit for properties along Windella Avenue, between Valerie Street and Strathwyn Place. We will accept one response from residents in each property. If we receive more than one response for your property, we will contact you to confirm your response.
    2. Property owners who do not live in their property.

    This consultation closes at 5 pm Thursday 12 March 2026.

    What happens after this consultation

    In accordance with our Parking Management Policy, we will change the parking restrictions if 55% or more of all eligible responses support the proposed changes and we receive a minimum 10% response rate from those surveyed.
