Background
From 19 August to 12 September 2025, we consulted our community on proposed changes to on-street parking along Violet Grove in Kew East.
We invited residents and property owners to participate in this consultation. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the proposed changes.
What we asked
We asked for your feedback on the proposal to introduce '2P, 8 am-6 pm, Monday to Friday' parking restriction along the east side (even numbered side) of Violet Grove between High Street and Hard Road.
Changes to parking restrictions are made if:
- we receive feedback from at least 10% of people invited to share their feedback, and
- a minimum 55% support the proposed changes.
What we heard
We received responses from an adequate level of eligible community members.
- 100% supported the proposed changes.
In accordance with our Parking Management Policy, we will change the parking restrictions if 55% or more of all eligible responses show support for the proposed changes.
What happens next?
In accordance with the Council’s Parking Management Policy 2017 and Parking Management Procedures 2017, 55% support is required to implement any proposed parking change.
With a majority support received (100%) to introduce the parking restrictions, we will proceed to install '2P, 8am-6pm, Mon-Fri' parking restrictions on the east side (even-numbered side) of the street.
Vehicles with a valid residential parking permit will be exempted from parking restrictions in this area. To find out if you’re eligible for a permit and how to apply, visit www.boroondara.vic.gov.au/parking-streets or phone 9278 4444.
The parking restrictions will be installed from the week starting 20 October 2025, to allow eligible residents to apply for and receive their parking permits.
