Background

From 21 July to 15 August 2025, we consulted our community on proposed changes to on-street parking along Tooronga Road between Anderson Road and Constance Street in Hawthorn East.

We invited residents and property owners to participate in this consultation. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the proposed changes.

What we asked

We asked for your feedback on the proposal to introduce '2P, 8 am-6 pm, Monday to Fri' parking restrictions along the east side (even numbered properties) of Tooronga Road between Anderson Road and Constance Street.

Changes to parking restrictions are made if:

• we receive feedback from at least 10% of people invited to share their feedback, and
• a minimum 55% support the proposed changes.

What we heard

We received responses from an adequate level of eligible community members.

• 31% supported the proposed changes
• 69% opposed the proposed changes.

What happens next?

As the proposed changes are not supported by at least 55% of participants, there will be no change to the existing parking restrictions.
