About this consultation
Community members have contacted Council about parking along Adeney Avenue, between High Street and Argyle Road in Kew.
The issues raised related mostly to parking on weekends, due to sporting events in Victoria Park and visits to the playground. Parking surveys over a weekend during winter sports identified high use at times within the east (residential) side. This is reducing the availability of parking for residents and their visitors.
We’ve looked at the parking situation and now want your feedback on proposed changes to the parking rules.
The proposed changes are in line with our:
Parking Management Policy 2017 Parking Management Procedures 2017.
Current parking restrictions
There are no parking restrictions along the east (residential) side of Adeney Avenue except for a '2-hour, 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday' restriction between High Street and Segtoune Street (2 spaces).
Proposed changes
We’re proposing to introduce, on the east (residential) side of Adeney Avenue between High Street and Argyle Road:
- Permit Zone between 8 am and 6 pm Saturday and Sunday.
Vehicles with a valid residential parking permit are and will be exempt from parking restrictions in this area. To find out if you’re eligible for a permit and how to apply, visit our Residential parking permits page.
Who can take part
- People who are eligible for a residential parking permit for properties along Adeney Avenue, between High Street and Argyle Road. We will accept one response from residents in each property. If we receive more than one response for your property, we will contact you to confirm your response.
- Property owners who do not live in their property.
