Consultation opening in April 2026

During the 2025 federal election, some community members told us they were concerned about pedestrian safety and access around polling stations, particularly where election signs were placed on footpaths.

As a result, we will be proposing changes to our local law about the display of election signage to make sure people can move around safely near polling stations while maintaining freedom of political communication.

We’d like to hear from the community about these proposed changes — whether they make sense and if you support what they’re aiming to do.
